I can’t seem to stop reading books about the world economy. And how we really screwed it up. And boy, did we.
An economist debunks the reigning theory of neo-liberal economics and explains the harm it has done the world economy in the last several decades, particularly in regards to developing nations. The title comes from the fact that the world’s rich nations all got that way by not following the neo-liberal prescription, but now force it upon the world’s developing nations.
J. R. Ackerly describes his time spent as the personal secretary of an Indian Maharaja in the 1920’s.
A pretty disheartening account of the many economic ideas, like trickle-down theory, which ought to be dead but are still going strong.
Maybe not as good as the earlier ones, but I enjoyed it.
Another good one in the same series.
Wow! Really good cyberpunk noir.
