Book: Deadhouse Gates

This series is turning out to be every bit as good as George R. R. Martin’s, maybe even better. It’s surprisingly funny, too.

It’s definitely got a sense of humor, but I wouldn’t call it whimsical and comedy is not the primary mood. It’s pretty darn brutal in spots, actually. I just mentioned the humor because it’s surprising to find it in a series like this. If you want more funny than fighting, I would go with Pratchett.
