A very good piece of science fiction. The characters and setting are detailed and realistic.

A technical description of design problems and solutions for large C++ projects. In addition to logical design (functions, classes, etc.), this book focuses on physical design (files, directories, etc.) as an important aspect of large software projects. Although C++ is used throughout, many, but not all, of the concepts apply to other environments. The prose of this manual is deadly boring, even for a technical work.

Woohoo! This is good and strange, just like I like ’em.

This was a gift from my friends Amy & Keith Wiley, and it turned out to be a wonderful present. Using evolutionary theory, physics, biology, neurology, psychology, and philosophy, Jourdain explores our ability to appreciate and create music. The writing is clean and quickly-paced and each chapter contains several “I didn’t know that!” moments. Highly recommended.
