Book: Hyperion

This novel took me by surprise. It starts out as standard-fare sci-fi, but then takes a left turn and becomes extremely interesting. Highly recommended.

Book: Masks of the Illuminati

Albert Einstein and James Joyce team up to investigate conspiracies. Yes.

Book: Valis

Dick writes some crazy stuff. I may need to read this again.

Book: The World of Pooh

Everyone likes Pooh. And thus, you do too.

Book: The King's Buccaneer

Another great big fantasy novel. Feist just cranks them out.

Book: The Ayes of Texas

Hard sci-fi with a terrible title. Might have been good, though. Don’t remember.

Book: The Difference Engine

What if Charles Babbage had succeeded in his quest to build a mechanical computer (his Difference Engine) and the computer revolution had happend in the 1800’s? Well, it makes for a pretty good story.

Book: The Silmarillion

Tolkien’s history of the Elves in Middle-Earth. I don’t think I could finish it – the prose is very elaborate and somewhat dry.

Book: The Hobbit

One of the first real books I ever read, and boy what an impact it (and the trilogy) had on me. I probably ended up reading too much fantasy as a result, but no matter.

Book: I Smell Esther Williams

No memory. None.
