Book: UNIX Network Programming

The definitive guide to the UNIX networking API. Few technical authors can match Stevens, who unfortunately passed away not too long ago.

Book: Wrong Information is Being Given Out at Princeton

I bought this book simply because I liked the title, but it turned out to be quite enjoyable.

Book: Brief Interviews with Hideous Men

You’d think I’d remember reading a book with this title, but I don’t.

Book: Wasp

A great sci-fi story about an inter-planetary terrorist (for the good guys, that is, depending on your point of view).

Book: Dreams of Terror and Death

Lovecraft is spoooky. But good.

Book: The Arabian Nights

A nice set of Arabian Nights stories with illustrations by Maxfield Parrish and an interesting introduction by Mark Helprin.

Book: Legends of the World

A compendium of articles about myths and legends in different parts of the world. Interesting, but a little dry.

Book: Underworld

This is a really big book. I thought it was okay.

Book: The Dilbert Principle

Adam’s humorous, but shallow take on the business world, or at least the part of it filled with cubicles and engineering teams. Adams is funny, but the humor never really goes beyond poking fun at the status quo. Strangely, he never seems to advise *getting out* of it, as he himself did.

Book: Neverwhere

Neil Gaiman writes good stories. You should read one.
